Through the support of the Canada Summer Jobs program, we are hiring!
About us:
MAZON Canada is the Jewish response to hunger. We are a grassroots community foundation that feeds both Jewish and non-Jewish Canadians in need on behalf of our community. We support food projects across the country - including food banks, school nutrition programs, hot meals at shelters, community gardens and more.
Our small, dynamic staff (3-6 people) is committed to making the workplace we wish to see in the world: communicative, colourful, effective, enjoyable, mutually supportive, and nourished by expressing and respecting our needs and boundaries.
When we grow, our organization grows!
Because of federal restrictions on the Canada Summer Jobs program, these opportunities are available only to candidates aged 16-30. These are entry-level jobs intended for early-career applicants.
Social skills, fast learning, creativity, critical thinking, passion for the cause, and a positive, supportive attitude will be prioritized above specific software experience, etc.
We will prioritize qualified applicants from demographics most affected by food insecurity and who face barriers in the job market: Black, Indigenous, trans, disabled, immigrant, etc.
To learn more about the details of each role, our work culture, our ideal applicants, and how to apply, please explore the full job postings:
Administrative Assistant - full time, permanent, $40,000-45,000, benefits. The Administrative Assistant will become Mazon's 4th full-time staff member. Role includes data entry, AR/AP, phone and email reception with LOTS of room for career development.
(FILLED:) Archivist - 20h/week, $18/h, 3 months. The Archivist will help build institutional memory in advance of our 35th anniversary by organizing and digitizing our printed materials.
