ANNUAL
REPORT
2021
In 2021, 5.8 million people were left struggling for basic necessities through employment shocks and runaway inflation. Front-line programs struggled to support them, even as donations declined for a second year in a row for many charities – leaving these programs overwhelmed and underfunded.
But when Canadians go hungry, the Jewish community cares. Our grassroots Jewish movement defied these giving trends, and together, we provided over 300,000 meals to Canada’s most vulnerable - and implemented ground-breaking hunger relief strategies that put food on the table today, and break cycles of poverty for tomorrow.
WE HAD MANY SUCCESSES IN 2021.
BUT THE WORK CONTINUES IN 2022, AND
WHEN CANADIANS GO HUNGRY, THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CARES.
