Family Day Skating Event a Great Success!

Well over 100 people attended MAZON Canada’s first ever Family Day event on February 20. The event took place at Upper Canada College Arena in Toronto and was the perfect setting for a skating party. There was plenty of room for every type of skater on the Olympic size rink. The day included pleasure skating to entertaining ’80s music and an area for games and hockey. Skaters ranged from age 2 to 82 and the attendees consisted of MAZON supporters in addition to recipients. For those that did not skate, there was a comfortable lounge with fireplace overlooking the rink and lots of activities for both children and adults.

The catering generously donated by Abe Levy of Taam Tov Catering was suited to all age groups and choosy eaters. Abe pulled out all the stops by providing a pasta station which allowed participants to select what they like. The fruit and marshmallow skewers were lots of fun. Participants had such a great time that they have requested that the Family Day party become an annual event. And that is what we will be doing so keep Family Day open for next year’s MAZON Family Day event.

MAZON would like to thank Taam Tov Catering, Fortino’s and Canadian Tire for their donations. We would also like to thank Daphne Delefes and all of the volunteers – Abe, Alex, Bruce, Carol, Daryl, Esther, Liz, Meryl, Miki, Naomi, Suellen, Tammy, Val, Yael – for making the day a huge success.
