Welcome Hall Mission

What is the greatest form of tzedakah? The Rambam says, one where you give the person the ability to care for themselves. That’s what’s so incredible about the Youth Micro Enterprise, a program by Montreal’s own Welcome Hall Mission.

This initiative supports street youth, many of whom have no work experience or even a high school diploma, in learning professional cooking skills for both work and life, while building self-esteem by supporting their community. They learn meal planning and preparation under the trained eye of a professional fine-dining chef, who teaches them everything from nutrition to the importance of showing up on time. Then the restaurant-quality meals they make are distributed to programs around the shelter, like the programs for young mothers or schoolkids in need! It’s a true win-win.

Both the skills they learn and the pride they build can last a lifetime. That’s why MAZON Canada is proud to be a supporter of this incredible program by providing funds for groceries.

Et donc: Bonne appetit, Mission Bon Accueil/Welcome Hall Mission! Nous sommes fiers a travailler avec vous!
